Electrochoc is a 30 year history of dance music, written by French producer and DJ Laurent Garnier, which is soon to be released in English with contributions from Jeff Mills, James Murphy and François K. A feature film based on the book is set to be produced this year, co-written by Garnier.
Electronic Beats’ Book of Classic Roland Gear. R Is For Roland is a book dedicated to 23 key pieces in the Japanese company catalogue of highly fetishised equipment from between ’73 and ’87. Set to be published next month, the book features interviews with Legowelt, Egyptian Lover, Mark Ernestus and others. Find out more here.

Apple Attracts BBC Producers for Spotify Rival. Apple has poached four top producers from BBC Radio 1 for a new Spotify rival, having already attracted Zane Lowe, his old producer James Bursey is also believed to be one of the four. Bursey is understood to have left the BBC on Friday and is now on his way to meet Lowe in Los Angeles, Music Business Worldwide reports.
