Davina Moss – My Studio

My studio in Ibiza. I’m very proud of it since I built it from nothing. It was an old wooden house in the garden without any door or even a roof.

I put lots of acoustic treatment in the walls and tried to make it sound as good as possible, and make it comfortable.

Event Opals

Event Opal monitors. My speakers are very accurate, I love them. When my tracks sound great on these, they usually sound great everywhere else.

I used to have the Dynaudio Air 15 but for my room they were too big, so these Event Opals are just perfect for it.

Moog Little Phatty

Then my Moog. Every time I turn it on, for sure one sound will be used in my track. There is always something in it that just makes it!

Nord Rack 3

..and the same for my Nord Lead. In whatever genre of music you make, you will always find fat sounds coming from these machines. Also for the hardware lover, these synthesisers are gold! I have had both for more than 10 years and I’m still totally addicted to them.

Spectrasonics Trilian

I use the Trilian plugin a lot for basslines. I actually used it in my track ‘Jungle Chic’ from my upcoming EP. For me it can sound as fat as one of its hardware counterparts. It’s also very handy and easy to use. I recommend it to everyone.

RME Fireface 800, Eventide Eclipse & Aphex Exciter

The RME Fireface is always the best. I bought it more than 12 years ago and it’s still working the best, I love it. It always does the job – great for recording, nice preamps and many outputs. It’s like a real mixer in my hand that doesn’t take over the space in the studio.

Sennheiser Headphones

It would be impossible for me to send a track for mastering before having heard it with these. They are just the top of the top for me. If I’m away from my studio, travelling or in some friend’s studio, I know I can make music with these and I will get a pretty good result!

Baby monitor

It’s my favourite toy. With this, I can make music while my baby boy is sleeping, then as soon as he wakes up I can hear him and go! Very convenient for mama music composer – so we are able to compose any time of the day or night!
