“Deep and polyphonic structures with analogue overlays.” Mutlu San introduces himself.
Who are you?
I’m Mutlu San from Istanbul, and I’m a sound designer, producer and a performer as well as a DJ and soundtrack artist.
What do you sound like?
I use different aliases for different vibes and grooves in my sound. So if I should say a common point, it’s made up of deep and polyphonic structures with analogue overlays.
What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?
Actually, I’ve been operating an imprint called Polyfisch Musik. We still don’t have any releases but something will come out soon.
My EP, Leidenfrost will be released by Petra Digital/Vinyl with a John Tejada remix next month and it’ll be out both digitally and physically. Some other stuff from me and Batu Guler called Bårtaub will be released this summer also!
What song sums you up? Why?
STL – ‘Silent State’. The vibe of the track makes me feel really primitive.
What or who is your biggest influence and why?
Mike Ink and Maurizio are my biggest influences. If you ask why, then you should listen to Maurizio‘s ‘M5 A’ from 1995.
Where can we hear your music?
Well, the easiest way to follow my vibes is via my SoundCloud and YouTube pages. Also you guys can follow my Facebook page to catch updates.
Where will you be in five years’ time?
Probably in Königsforst in Cologne.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
