The guilty pleasure?
I don’t have musical guilty pleasures but I love fast food! I know it’s bad but I just can’t help myself.
The last track of the night?
I like to finish with one of my own records, so probably either ‘Silent Drop’ or ‘How Do You Do It?’. I like to end my sets with a track where the melody will stay with the crowd once they’ve left the dancefloor.
The best chillout record?
It’s not ‘chillout’ as such, but lately I love listening to stuff coming out of the UK bass scene. A lot of the producers who are taking influence from the garage sounds of the nineties are really doing it for me at the moment.
The best record for a family party?
Homework by Daft Punk. It’s perfection and has something on it which I think everybody can love. Great music by two exceptional artists!
The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon?
The Tramp LP by Volor Flex.
The record you’re proudest of?
I’m very proud of my latest album Origin. The idea behind the project was to create something which was timeless for me. Something that I can look back on in years to come and be proud of. From a personal perspective I feel I achieved it with this part of the series.
The record everyone loves but you hate?
I don’t hate any record; I just ignore the music that doesn’t fulfil me. What isn’t good to me might be incredible to someone else, so who am I to judge other people and their musical pleasures?
The future classic?
Adam Port – ‘Black Noise’ (KiNK Live Mix). The combination of rolling hi-hats, deep kick, stuttering groove and hook sets it apart. This will definitely be one we will be hearing a lot over the summer.
