The record everyone loves but you hate?

Hate’s a very strong word, I’d rather talk about records that I like… Monty Python’s hilarious ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’.

The best record for a family party?

‘We Are Family’ by Sister Sledge. I don’t think this needs an explanation…

The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon?

I can’t really remember what a lazy Sunday afternoon is these days… but a couple of favourites are ‘Another Thought’ and ‘Calling Out Of Context’ by Arthur Russell. I love pretty much everything he’s done and never tire of listening to ‘This Is How We Walk On The Moon’ or ‘Arm Around You’. I never really tire of listening to any of it though, to be fair.

The worst record you’ve ever heard?

‘Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’ by Brian Hyland. I think the track title says it all…

The record you’re proudest of?

It would have to be one of the latest ones I’ve been working on. My sound is continually evolving and I’ve recently finished two tracks called ‘Keep The Focus’ and ‘Literal Moment’ which I learnt a lot from while making.

The future classic?

The new track by Paul Woolford, ‘Untitled’, currently storming the Beatport charts.

Laura Jones plays at Eastern Electrics festival on August 2nd.
