The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon

I have a stack of vinyl in my lounge especially for Sundays. The most played is probably Love’s Forever Changes or anything by Soft Cell. I buy nearly all of the Finders Keepers compilations and they join the Sunday box. As new music goes I love Peaking Lights, Group Rhoda, Beach House, almost anything Adrian Sherwood touches and most recently anything from The Great Pop Supplement.

Last track of the night

I have a playlist of ‘last tunes’ in my Recordbox folder. It gets added to about once or twice a month but I generally have a favorite last tune for two or three months. The most recent has been ‘Binary’ by Kazino. I’m a sucker for a new wave classic when the lights come on, so Nitzer Ebb, Bauhaus, Depeche Mode and New Order all make regular appearances.

The future classic

I should say my compilation album really. I can’t see it becoming a ‘classic’ but it’s been my biggest project to date and something I’m really happy with. Away from club music I’d say that there have been some great albums this year – I love the TOY album, the Cat’s Eyes one and The Eyes In The Heat especially. As far as club music goes I’m really happy to be releasing a collaboration EP with Zhao on Kill The DJ next month. The DC Salas remix of the title track, ‘Where Were You?’, is a future classic to me…
