The guilty pleasure?
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album. It just takes me back to when my mum used to take me to her mates’ parties and that was always on wherever we went. ‘You Make Loving Fun’ would probably be my guilty fave. There’s a good mashup/remix version by Trail.
The last track of the night?
It depends. For a deep and lovely ending it would be ‘603’ by Lali Puna, a very much underrated band from Munich who have done three or four albums. Their singer, Valerie Trebeljahr, sang on a track of mine called ‘Fed Ex To Munchen’.
Or for an upbeat, heavy one I’d go for ‘Acid Track’ by Dillinja, an absolute stormer from my favourite era of D&B.
The best chillout record?
Probably Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks by Brian Eno. ‘An Ending (Ascent)’ is the most beautiful piece of music. I can listen to it on loop for hours.
The worst record you’ve ever heard?
I clicked on a Skrillex track to see what the fuss is about. I don’t really dig dubstep anyway, but I can safely say it was the worst piece of shit I’ve ever heard. Really horrific female rave vocals going into ‘the drop’ which was just appalling. Puuuuuuke.
I didn’t make a note of what track it was, so let’s just say anything by that fool. Apologies to the real dubstep crew, ’cause I know this ain’t it!
