The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon?
The League Unlimited Orchestra – Love And Dancing. ‘Seconds’ is my favourite from this great album. It was produced by Martin Rushent and it’s dub versions/remixes from the Human League. It will get your ass out of bed and dancing like a synth pop king in minutes.
The record everyone loves but you hate?
Everything by the Smiths, Oasis and U2. ‘Wonderwall’ makes me retch. I think I hate these three bands so much because of their frontmen, who have the attitude I most dislike: arrogant, self-centred and attention-seeking.
The best record for a family party?
Da La Soul – ‘The Magic Number’. It’s a great bit of music to get the whole family going. Kids love it and so does Grandma (especially after a few).
The worst record you’ve ever heard?
House Of Pain – ‘Jump Around’. Anyone who plays this should be banned from DJing forever. It represents to me drunk guys fighting and harassing girls.
The record you’re proudest of?
‘The Dance’ on Dirtybird. The first ZDS production pretty much. Everything just clicked on that track.
The future classic?
‘Dood’ by Claude VonStroke. Weird, wonderful and slaps you round the face like a enraged bear. This record will be a hit – I’m sure of it.
Zombie Disco Squad plays at Oval Space, London, on Saturday the 28th of September with Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Catz & Dogz, Kill Frenzy and more. Tickets available here.
