Following the success of AVA London 2022 at Printworks, AVA will be holding another day and night takeover of Printworks on February 24th, 2023. The event will have two distinct components to it. During the day a series of talks, workshops and demos will be held. Then at night, there will performances from artists including Mall Grab, Max Cooper (Live), Logic1000, Helena Star, and DJ Seinfeld.
AVA Conference London
During the conference, we can expect to hear talks from some of the biggest names across the industry. Famed pop, electronica, and synthpop band Hot Chip will take part in a keynote interview. The interview will focus on their journey as a group from 1995 till the present day.
Another interview will be with London-born DJ and producer Sherelle and Niks (founder of the Black Artists Database and co-founder of BEMA). The talk will focus on Sherelle’s organisation ‘Beautiful’. Launched in 2022, ‘Beautiful’ is a label/organization created to offer resources to black and queer artists.
Lead sponsor Square will host a panel on venue and festival operations with a series of industry experts.
Resident Advisor will host an edition of RA Exchange Live with Tony Andrews, the founder of Funktion-One Audio and Turbosound. Since the early 1970s, Andrew’s sound systems have been a part of some truly incredible events including the very beginnings of Glastonbury, tours with Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa, Roger Water’s Berlin Concert, and more recently at Space Ibiza, Berghain, and AVA Festival.
Other talks will cover topics such as neurodiversity in the music industry and how technology is changing the way we create, view and collect art.
There will also be a series of live interactive sessions, such as hands-on masterclasses, demonstrations and workshops. Including one from Australian label Steel City Dance Discs, who will host a DIY tape-making workshop.
