The platform, dubbed Beatport.io, will bring electronic music culture to Web3, giving fans access to exclusive collectables and interactive experiences with artists and labels.
Electronic music titan Beatport has announced they will be joining forces with Polkadot, a next-generation blockchain network, to launch Beatport.io, a marketplace for digital collectables.
The platform, developed and designed in partnership with Define Creative, will launch on Aventus, a Web3 solutions provider for enterprises and parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem.
The space will enable record labels and artists to create and sell unique digital assets, giving them a chance to reach new audiences while also giving music fans an opportunity to deepen their connection to their favourite artists and labels.
Vendors can also choose to provide access to bonus features such as unreleased tracks, discounted tickets, and early access to global events and interactive experiences along with the purchase of a digital collectable.
Ed Hill, Senior Vice President of Beatport Media Group elaborated: “The electronic music community has always been at the forefront of cultural shifts and their early embrace of Web3 and all the promise it offers is no different…
To usher in a new era for the electronic music space, we felt it was important to join forces with a trusted, long-time leader in the blockchain space. Polkadot’s open and interoperable ecosystem enables us to seamlessly tap into Web3 and celebrate electronic music by connecting fans with their favourite artists in unique and powerful new ways.”
