The seminal Swedish label run by Adam Beyer is gearing up to release a collaboration with Layton Giordani, Eli Brown and OFFAIAH.
The track ‘When I Push’ is the first time the three have come together on a track. It’s out on January 19th.
In typical Drumcode fashion, it launches with a straightforward kick drum followed by classic synths soundscapes.
Vocals are provided by OFFAIAH’s ‘Push Pull’ and teased before the drop featuring an LFO automated rain synth sound. The rolling bass remains ever-present – a benchmark of Drumcode’s distinctive style.
Despite their individual successes in the past year, with Eli Brown dominating the charts, Layton Giordani solidifying his position at the top end of the techno hierarchy and OFFAIAH surpassing a billion streams this is the first time they’ve worked together.
Eli Brown expresses his satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “Layton has been one of my favourite producers for some time, so it felt really natural to work on some music together, and this record complements both our sounds. It was one of the most requested IDs from my set in the Steelyard at Creamfields, so I’m thrilled we are releasing this record on Drumcode.”
Layton Giordani reflects on the collaborative process, saying, “Working together with Eli is always a great experience. We naturally trust each other’s artistry and have nothing but fun when making records. ‘When I Push’ is proof of that.”
OFFAIAH adds, “Bringing back one of my most in-demand tracks to a new style which has culminated in this release has morphed the original idea into something entirely new. To have Eli and Layton on board to bring this distinctive 2024 Techno vibe has been a fascinating sonic venture.”
Pre-save When I Push on Drumcode. Out on 19th Jan.
