Photos leaked via Reddit show that Roland’s new synth line-up includes three models based on analogue classics.
Leaked images of Roland’s new Boutique synth range reveal that the line-up consists of three portable modules with digital synth engines based on classic analogue keyboards. The three models are the JP-08, JU-06 and JX-03, based on the Jupiter-8, Juno-106 and JX-3P respectively.
Priced at $399 for the JP-08 and $299 each for the JU-06 and JX-03, all three units can also be used with the optional K-25m keyboard module, priced at $99. Each unit offers four-voice polyphony, with a chain mode allowing two units to be linked together for eight-voice operation.
Small upgrades and additions to the original specifications of the three synths have been made where appropriate, including new wave shapes on the JP-08 and JX-03 and a continuously variable high-pass filter on the JU-06.
All three units feature an on-board step sequencer, built-in speaker and the ability to run on AA batteries for portable use. The Boutique range is expected to go on sale in the US on November 8th. Release dates and retail prices for other territories are unconfirmed.

so sad.

These are nice, but “boutique” is not how I would describe them. They’re just your run of the mill VA’s that Roland has been doing since the late 90’s. Nothing wrong with that but boutique they are not.

The article forgot to mention all models also have an 24/96 i/o audio interface.

No MIDI thru… Again. And I bet the ‘sequencer is just a loop sequencer (4 bar maximum at 16 steps per bar). Does any manufacturer care that many of us have computer time that is separate from our hardware-rig time? . Apparently not, decent hardware sequencers are gonna get really hard to find soon.
