Manifest Audio, one of our Max for Live shop bestsellers, has released Trifecta—a new and exciting multitimbral polyrhythmic arpeggiator featuring auto-hocketting.
If you’re seeking an escape from the same old repetitive patterns and want to create a sense of dynamic intricacy in your work, Manifest Audio’s latest release, Trifecta, could be the spark you need. Better yet, their Cyber Sale sees everything on sale for 33% off until December 3.
Good things come in threes—and Trifecta truly lives up to its name. This innovative sequencer combines three-strand polyrhythmic, Euclidean, and auto-hocketting capabilities into a multitimbral powerhouse that redefines pattern generation. From expansive diatonic motifs to intricate interlocking drum patterns, Trifecta has the versatility to suit any creative need. Plus, with the included X-Relay utility, you can achieve seamless multi-instrument expression for even more dynamic performances
Parametric Playground
At its core, Trifecta is designed to help producers effortlessly generate interwoven patterns and evolving musical ideas. Each of its three strands operates independently, featuring seven parameter lanes:
- Gate
- Choice of note pitch (two selectable pitches per lane)
- Velocity
- Chance of playback
- Note length
- Offset delay
- Control Change
With Euclidean logic for both gate and note choice patterns, you can quickly create complex, compelling rhythms. Randomization tools enable spontaneous pattern exploration, while real-time MIDI input allows precise customization. Each strand is fully modular, with outputs that can be sent directly to the current MIDI track or routed anywhere in your Ableton Live set via X-Relay.
Each parameter lane can span up to 64 steps distributed over 64 up to bars, easily adopting polyrhythmic odd-number divisions for endlessly evolving grooves. Global and per-strand reset options, polymetric per-parameter loop lengths, shuffle modes, and customizable play directions ensure you have total control over how patterns unfold.
Dream Weaver
Trifecta’s unique weave modes offer fresh ways to blend, alternate, or hocket between the three strands:
- Combine: Merge all MIDI notes into a single output.
- Converse: A hierarchical structure where strands play only when others aren’t active.
- Count: Cycle through strands at set intervals with forward, backward, or elliptical motion.
- Chaos: Randomly trigger strands with or without silence for unpredictable results.
With scale quantization, theme adaptation, Push integration, and a visualizer to track output activity, Trifecta offers a user-friendly interface to manage its deep functionality.
Multitimbral Arpeggiation
Trifecta doesn’t stop at rhythmic sequencing: its Arpeggiator mode lets you arpeggiate results across multiple instruments simultaneously while staying in sync. Combined with discrete transposition controls, this opens a world of melodic and harmonic possibilities, whether you’re working with synths or drum racks.
Trifecta and all Manifest Audio products, are 20% off during their Boxing Week Sale—on now through January 1, 2025.
