Nicky Siano Live at The Gallery II Opening. Ahead of former Studio 54 DJ Nicky Siano‘s appearance with another disco legend, vocalist Rochelle Fleming of First Choice, at The Last Ultimate NYE Disco Party, in New York, Thump supplies an exclusive recording of Siano performing live at the opening of the second Gallery nightclub, in SoHo, New York, 1974. Patricia Live at MUTEK. MUTEKLIVE 94 presents a recording of Brooklyn-based techno producer and gear-head Patricia, whose house-tinted ambient and textural grooves have appeared on Spectral Sound and Opal Tapes. Long-time champion of underground UK sounds, Plastician has put a mix together to highlight some of the talents and tracks he’s picked up on SoundCloud and Bandcamp, from a movement of young producers creating rap-influenced productions with an ear for emotive, ethereal soundscapes. In the latest Dekmantel podcast, Brooklyn lo-fi house producer Huerco S creates an absorbing, two-hour-long mix of dancefloor-ready house tracks “with cavernous chambers of implicit rhythm, iridescent pads and loosely scattered hits slowly transforming into something resembling a groove”.
