This week’s top mixes include Autechre’s Electro Inspirations, Carl Cox live and a tribute to Colin Faver by Mr C.

Autechre’s Electro Inspirations. Following their recent set at Dekmantel Festival, the influential and widely acclaimed techno duo Autechre were asked if they’d be up for doing an early inspirations mix. They responded with a thrilling anthology of the greatest electro sounds of all time, which is over four hours long, and brings together the influential tracks of their youths. Stream and download above.

Medlar’s Fresh Dubs and Old Favourites. With a new EP coming soon on Wolf Music, Medlar comes with some freshly pressed dubplates for the latest in Feel My Bicep‘s self-titled mix series. “The mix was recorded in my lounge at home, with a couple of piles of records, some decks and a little 2 channel Allen & Heath mixer…” He explains, “there’s a few of my favourite Chicago/Detroit records, some Italo, some other stuff and some recent records that fit.” Stream and download here.

Carl Cox Live In Room One. Fabric upload a recording of Intec Digital boss Carl Cox‘s live set at the label’s last event, in promotion of the next Intec Digital night in Room One with Cox and Jon Rundell, duel to take place on October 8th. Stream above.

A Tribute To Colin Faver by Mr C. Beyond The Clouds is Superfreq DJ Mr C‘s tribute to his “dearly departed brother, guru, mentor & godfather of the UK electronic dance music scene, the legend that is Colin Faver…” a seminal figure who co-founded Kiss FM and was one of the UK’s first champions of cutting-edge dance music. “This tribute mix is coincidentally 3:03 long & was mixed using 100% vinyl from the 80s & early 90s, is emotional & has been uploaded unedited, warts & all, with pure love from the heart.” Stream and download above.

Luke Solomon on Girls FM. From July 1994, a recording of Classic Music Company and Music for Freaks man Luke Solomon playing on pirate radio station Girls FM, which at its peak ran 24-7 and could be heard many miles outside London. Stream above.

The Rave Classics with Mark Archer. In an hour-long recording of his live set at Bloc 2015, veteran rave DJ Mark Archer – who was a founding member of Bizarre Inc, one half Nexus 21 alongside Dean Meredith, and a 90s UK chart-crasher as one half of Altern-8 – runs through classics from the golden era of rave, 1988-1992.
