This week’s top mixes include Masters at Work, Karenn at Awakenings, Joey Negro’s 90s mix, and FaltyDL Playing Truant.

Masters at Work, at Work. House and garage music’s greatest hit-makers since the late 80s, Kenny Dope and Louie Vega of Masters at Work are the latest act to contribute to the FACT mix series, ahead of a rare London show at Found’s 51st State Festival on Saturday August 8th. Stream and download the mix above.

Karenn at Awakenings. Techno duo Arthur Cayzer and Jamie Roberts aka Blawan and Pariah present a recording of their improvised live set as Karenn, recorded at the second day of Dutch techno festival Awakenings 2015. Stream above.

Joey Negro’s 90s House & Garage Mix. “Like last years Italo-house collection, I tried to select some of the more under the radar type stuff which I was personally into, most of which aren’t available to buy easily or already on lots of compilations,” Joey Negro explains. “I’ve put together this mix using some songs from the new album alongside a few of the ones we couldn’t license for various reasons.” Stream above, track listing here.

Body Boys’ All City Mix. The fifth edition of the All City mix series comes from mysterious ambient techno producer Body Boys, whose debut release on the critically acclaimed Opal Tapes imprint quickly sold out and is to be followed up with a forthcoming release on Black Opal, the label’s vinyl subsidiary. Stream and download above.

FaltyDL Playing Truant. “I wanted to showcase some of Elysia’s album and a new thing from someone else but quickly realised how well they paired with the Jonny Greenwood piece and the other jungle. I find making mixes like being a sommelier. What pairs well together? Not just tempo-wise but what is contrasting and and brings out the best in each other? The Nick Drake and Phil Collins tracks aren’t things I would have mixed in a few years ago, so maybe I am getting more sentimental — emphasis on the mental — in my older years. I like a mix to be a journey stylistically, use jungle as a weapon, folk music as a warm blanket and use them all together. A warm bullet, you dig?” Stream and download above, track listing and interview with the artist here.

Throwing Snow on Solid Steel. Ninja Tune‘s institution of a radio show Solid Steel this time hosts London-based producer Ross Tones AKA Throwing Snow. This mix exclusively features music from Spanish artists that have been released over the last couple of years. “It was nice giving exposure to a small scene full of lovely people”. His latest EP Glower is out now on Houndstooth. Stream and download above, track listing here.
