This week’s top mixes include Citizenn bringing some heat, Hatcha Upfront for Boiler Room and Jon K’s Silencio Edit.
Citizenn Bringing Some Heat. Midlands-born house producer Citizenn recently put out his debut album Human Interface via Crosstown Rebels. He has also had releases on Love Fever, Madtech, and 2020Vision Recordings – including his single ‘Tied’, a remake of Miami house master Murk, and remixes of Maya Jane Coles, Adele and Hercules & Love Affair. Listen to him go “from moody to massive real quick” in his exclusive mix for Thump, above.
Hatcha Upfront. Dubstep originator Hatcha gives new life to the roots of the sound, presenting half an hour of percussive, rude and subtle dubstep for Boiler Room. Selected from his Hatched label’s roster of “talents out there making a really good, proper dubstep sound,” listen above, check out the full track listing here.
Jon K – The Silencio Edit. Resident of Manchester’s Hoya:Hoya alongside Illum Sphere, Krystal Klear, Lone and Eclair Fifi, Jon K follows up his recent appearance supporting Legowelt at Room 2 of Fabric with a new mix for Berceuse Heroique entitled The Silencio Edit. It moves dextrously between acidic electro, double-time UKG and half-time US rap, with some synthetic oddities bordering on psychedelia. Stream above.
Joseph Marinetti + The Blessings – LuckyMe On Rinse. “Two years deep, we’re proud to present our radio show on the legendary pirate-turned-premier-underground-dance-station Rinse FM.
