Suicideyear’s Dreamy Southern Trap. Known for his releases on OPN‘s Software label and others, and celebrating his new EP, Hate Songs, out on LuckyMe, New Orleans-based producer Suicideyear blends his signature electronic sound with Southern trap staples. Powder Exorcising Daily Demons. Japanese producer Moko Shibata, aka Powder, explained her 2015 EP, Highly, as a way to “exorcize her daily demons” from a “bland office building where her day is consumed by the electronics industry.” Her mix on New York’s Beats In Space radio show is a therapeutic dancefloor session full of melancholy and escapism. Young Male In Session. New York-based techno and downtempo artist Young Male‘s hour-long In Session mix for Mixmag is an hour of “heads-down, jack-knife slammers recorded in one take.” He explains that “the goal was to create a full speed ahead rave techno journey, punctuated by moments of trance, acid, and polyrhythms”.
