Shawn O’Sullivan’s tripped-out acid. Live from The Shelter in Shanghai, New York resident Shawn O’Sullivan performs with a bunch of hardware. The result is like classic dub techno from an alternative dimension, with elements of dusty acid thrown in for good measure. Stream above.
High Class House with George FitzGerald. With an album in the pipeline for Domino‘s Double Six imprint, George FitzGerald contributes the latest FACT mix. Magic Mountain High Live. The trio of Move D and Juju & Jordash make up Magic Mountain High. Their fully improvised live show, which made use of a combination of hardware synths, drum machines and effects, brought a unique melting pot of proto house, buzzy LFOs and dubby synths to Dekmantel 2014. Bucky Skank @ Glasgow Art School. Recognised posthumously for his mixtapes, albums and the now-famous ‘screwed and chopped’ DJ technique, this compilation from Houston hip-hop figurehead DJ Screw features tracks from many of the rappers that put California’s Bay Area on the hip hop map: Mac Mall, Young Lay, Celly Cel and The Click.
