Aphex vs Trump. To promote his forthcoming live show in Houston, Texas, Aphex Twin shared a video predicting imminent nuclear apocalypse. The show will be his first in the US for eight years. Watch the video above.
Kraftwer’s Buenos Aires show falls foul of ban on electronic music. The iconic German group’s audiovisual show, planned for later this month, looks set to fall foul of a local law banning performances by bands that use “synthesizers or samplers as their primary instrument”. Electronic music pioneer Jean-Jacques Perrey passes away. The French composer and electronic music pioneer was known as one of the first artists in Europe to work with electronic instruments and co-wrote the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland and Disney World. According to his daughter, he has died in Switzerland aged 87 “from a very quick and violent lung cancer”. More info here.
