Last of the labels? A new company from the former president of Interscope Records, UnitedMasters, has raised $70m and aims to be an alternative to record labels by acting as a multi-format, cross-platform distributor. Read the full story here.

The sound of Brexit. Mathew Herbert’s Brexit Big Band has received a grant from the UK government to tour Europe. Shows will see him spread a musical message that says the UK “are still listening, we want to be friends, we want to collaborate.” More here.
