Thump One is a free synth plugin with a glitchy ‘wavetable’ engine and a bank of flexible multi-segment envelopes to shape the sound in any direction you desire. Perfect for powerful kick drums, huge club basses and soaring leads.
Toybox has announced Thump One.
The synth plugin has been designed with Toybox’s modular ‘west coast‘ approach to circuit layout and oscillators. It has two engines that you can layer – the ‘kick’ engine and the ‘layer’ engine.’
The kick has a wavetables oscillator with a set of wavetables created from a selection of clean and processed analog kick drum sounds. It has a saturation and a filtering circuit with an additional Buzz circuit for a broken speaker cone sound.
The second engine, layer, is a model of the supersaw oscillator in the Roland JP8000. It has a selection of operating modes that configure the oscillator to play in intervals and adds various amounts of modulation to create noisy retro synth sounds, glitches, or noise.
Thump One is available as AU, VST3, a standalone iPad app, and an iOS2 Auv3 plugin with 150 presets.
The plugin is available as a FREE download for MacOS and Windows and $3.99 for iPad.
Download it on the Toybox website.
